Avalanche on Highland Bowl was due to mitigation work

An avalanche on Highland Bowl at Aspen Highlands on Wednesday that was captured on camera and circulated online was standard mitigation work by Ski Patrol, according to Aspen One.
Aspen One confirmed to The Aspen Times that the bowl was closed during the work, adding, “The bowl remains closed at this time.”
Aspen Highlands is currently scheduled to close April 12. Buttermilk, which was scheduled to close April 5, closed early for the season this Wednesday.
The Aspen Times will continue to provide updates on mountain closures as they become available.
