Aspen stormwater pipe cleaning might disrupt traffic, parking

The city of Aspen, in partnership with Pro Pipe, will begin stormwater pipe cleaning to help protect water quality and keep the river clean and healthy.
The work, which is part of ongoing efforts to maintain and improve local infrastructure, will begin the week of Aug. 25 and continue for six weeks.
Crews will use a vacuum truck to clean stormwater lines and access manholes and city easements, a press release states. Work will take place east of Mill Street and along Highway 82 at the roundabout through mile marker 38. This may cause temporary impacts to traffic and parking, and noise is expected.
Crews will not remain in one location for more than a day, and disruptions to residents and businesses will be minimized as much as possible, the city writes.
