Aspen/Pitkin County Housing Authority to provide insurance, wildfire risk seminars

The Aspen/Pitkin County Housing Authority is inviting board members, condo owners, and property managers to an educational seminar focused on HOA insurance and wildfire risk mitigation, according to a press release.
The seminar will occur 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, at the Aspen City Council Chambers at 427 Rio Grande Place.
Molly Foley-Healy, an expert in community association law from Winzenburg, Leff, Purvis & Payne, will lead the session. Foley-Healy will provide insight into legal perspectives for HOAs and an overview of property insurance options for condominium projects.
Pat Wilderotter, a Colorado insurance agent, will offer an illustration of the insurance landscape and strategies for risk mitigation. Wilderotter has a background in insuring community associations and is one of 150 agents in the country to hold the designation of Community Insurance and Risk Management Specialist, according to a press release.
A representative from the Aspen Fire Department will also be there to discuss strategies to reduce wildfire risk in condo projects.
