Aspen is hosting a free waste drop-off for residents to dispose of paint, printer ink, and lightbulbs from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Rio Grande Recycle Center, 618-598 Rio Grande Place.
Paint, printer ink, and lightbulbs cannot be disposed of in regular trash, according to a press release, since they are hazardous for the environment.
“Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this event to safely and properly dispose of these items, so they do not end up in the landfill,” the release states.
Spray paint, paint thinner, solvents, cleaning agents, adhesives, roof patch drywall mud, or driveway and roof sealant are not allowed at the drop-off.
