Aero, a book-by-the-seat jet service, will be offering the only direct flights between New York City and Aspen this winter, beginning Dec. 19.
This route was first offered by Aero for Presidents’ Day Weekend this year.
“This is a route that has been in demand due to lack of commercial availability,” according to information provided by Aero.
As it stands, there is currently no commercial airplane that flies between New York City and Aspen in either the summer or the winter — Aero confirmed that only private jets have both “the range and the performance” to make the flight. As an example, E-175 aircrafts have the performance but not the range, and larger aircrafts have the range but cannot operate in Aspen due to size constraints.
Aero will be offering the route back for key holidays over the ’25-26 winter season, including Christmas, New Years, Martin Luther King Weekend, and Presidents’ Day Weekend. The flights are currently anticipated to operate on Thursdays and Fridays to Aspen with a return on Sundays and Mondays to New York.
Aero will be using business jet aircrafts — Legacy 600 and Gulfstream IV-SP — on the route, with seating for 13 guests per flight. Flights will be priced at $5,100 per seat, and dogs are allowed.
“Similar to all other routes, guests can expect Aero’s signature hospitality programming: 24/7 concierge, check-in 20 minutes before take off, private terminals with no lines or crowds, and endless in-flight amenities including Starlink Wi-Fi, top-shelf open bar, and dining service,” according to Aero. “Dogs of all sizes are also welcome in the interior cabin.”
Additional direct flights between Aspen and New York will be announced for the summer 2026 season soon.
