Around Aspen: Bella sera

On a lovely summer evening, the third annual benefit for National Jewish Hospital, located in Denver, was held at the Maroon Creek Club in Aspen. Honorees this year were Madeleine and Karl Larson and Linda and David Stein. The theme was Bella Sera and providing the entertainment were the singing chefs of Denver, who delighted partygoers with Italian operatic love songs. They danced honorees Madeleine and Linda around and around the room. They also prepared wonderful hors d’oeuvres and dinner. Dr. Michael Salem, who is on the staff of National Jewish, gave a brief talk about the programs offered by the hospital in Denver and also at Aspen Valley Hospital. Many Aspenites have been patients both in Aspen and in the Denver hospital.
Undercurrent … Most of the students had to return to school this week. A few colleges will start a little later. It’s been too short of a summer!
