Free Board Game Nights, every Monday
Wondering what to do on a Monday night? Free board game nights will take place from 5-9 p.m. every Monday until Oct. 27 at the MOLLIE Aspen. Guests of all ages are invited to enjoy a curated selection of board and card games, from classics to new releases. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase. The MOLLIE Aspen is located at 111 S. The Roots at Belly Up Aspen, Sept. 5

From the Big Apple to Aspen, Grammy Award-winning band The Roots will be performing at 9 p.m., Sept. 5, at Belly Up Aspen. Formed in 1993, the band, often seen on “The Tonight Show,” is considered one of the most prolific bands in contemporary music. Belly Up Aspen is located at 450 S. Macotoberfest, Sept 6

The local mac and cheese festival returns from 1-3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6, featuring macaroni and cheese samples, live music, beer and non-alcoholic options for purchase, and plenty of giveaways. This free event is open to all. Attendees are welcome to taste macaroni and cheese dishes from local restaurants, as they compete for the best mac and cheese, determined by the popular vote. Alex Edelman: What Are You Going To Do, Sept. 6

Highly anticipated comedian Alex Edelman will present “What Are You Going To Do” at 8 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Wheeler Opera House, with special guest Sarah Sanders. Alex Edelman is an acclaimed comedian and writer known for his award-winning solo shows and sharp storytelling. Shake Down Street perform Belly Up Aspen, Sept. 6
Bringing the music of the Grateful Dead to life, “An Evening with Shakedown Street” will begin at 9:30 p.m., Sept. 6 at Belly Up Aspen. This is an all-ages show. The Colorado-based band connects generations of fans with energetic, improvisational shows that celebrate the spirit and storytelling of the Dead. Solo Flights Festival underway, through Sept. 7

Theatre Aspen’s sixth annual Solo Flights festival is underway. The festival launched Sept. 2 and will continue through Sept. 7 at the Hurst Theatre and the Wheeler Opera House. The stellar lineup includes Margaret Cho, Marc Kudisch, Dick Scanlan, Alex Silberblatt, Paul Edwards, Ryan Langer, Adam Kantor, Sharone Sayegh, Zachary Prince, and more. Pure Prairie League at the Wheeler, Sept. 10

The Wheeler Opera House will host Pure Prairie League for one night only at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 10. For over five decades, this country-rock band has created groundbreaking music. Inspire Aspen Foundation presents Aspen Rocks, Sept. 11

Inspire Aspen Foundation presents six finalists from Aspen’s local “American Idol” competition who will rock the stage at Aspen Rocks at 7 p.m. ,Thursday, Sept. 11 at the Wheeler Opera House, located at 310 E. Hyman Ave. Proceeds from the event will provide opportunities for young musicians in the Aspen-Snowmass area to pursue their dreams. Biennial Art Exhibition, Sept. 11

The Red Brick Center for the Arts will host an opening reception for the Biennial Art Exhibition from 4-6 p.m., Sept. 11, at Aspen City Hall, 427 Rio Grande Place, third floor. Within the event, there will be a tour at 4:30 p.m. Guests are invited to preview contemporary work by regional artists, meet the creators, and enjoy light refreshments in a civic setting.
