A crime on the pass
Dear Editor:
Whoever broke into my buddy’s car and stole all of his climbing on Independence Pass needs to think about their actions. This occurred on the afternoon of June 12.
Climbing gear is expensive and personal. As a climber in the community, I think this is the most disrespectful thing you can do to another climber. The authorities have been notified, and this will not be forgotten. A true climber earns his/her gear, you don’t steal it!
Just to add insult to injury, they broke the damn window on the car to get in. Thanks a lot, THIEF!!
Gear stolen:
• full rack of cams
• 15 quickdraws
• multiple slings
• carabiners
