This summer in the Rockies has been filled with celebrations from grand to small and outdoor activities from running and biking races to exhilarating adventures.
On July 1, newlyweds Eric Motley and Hannah Haberkamp of Washington D.C. were honored at an intimate Aspen reception hosted by friends Laurie Tisch, Anne McNulty and Diane Morris. Since 2007, Motley has worked for the Aspen Institute, serving most recently as an executive vice president and the corporate secretary and spending his summers in Aspen. He begins a new full-time role in Washington working at the National Gallery on August 30 as Deputy Director as he and Hannah enjoy the start to married life.
On July 30, Indian American chef Maneet Chauhan, well known for her role as a judge on Chopped on the Food Network, was the guest of a honor at a reception kicking off Intersect Aspen Art Fair. She was a guest chef at a private residence the following night cooking some of her favorite Indian appetizers and will be back this winter for a guest chef experience at The Nell, date to be announced.
Be sure to visit Jimmy’s, an American Restaurant and Bar, before it closes for good on September 18. The longtime Aspen establishment has theme nights and guest bartender shifts planned over the next few weeks leading up to the last day.
