Ski Channel gets broadcast rights to top freeskiing events

DENVER ” The Ski Channel, an on-demand channel set to launch later this year, has tied up long-term broadcast rights to The Freeskiing World Tour, The World Freeskiing Championships, and The Subaru US Freeskiing Series.
The on-demand channel said it also has rights to broadcast The North Face Masters Series of snowboarding. Financial terms weren’t announced. The channel already has broadcast rights to events such as the World Heli Championships in Mt. Cook, New Zealand.
The latest deal includes marketing for the tours and for travel packages on The Ski Channel, and producing programming to promote athletes and the tours.
The Ski Channel previously has announced deals with Cox Communications, Time Warner Cable, Jonny Moseley, Panasonic, Rage Films and others.
