July 28, 1954 – December 24, 2025

Bob Hollenbach was born on July 28, 1954, in Cleveland, Ohio. He grew up as the middle child among four sisters, who remember him as endlessly patient, kind-hearted, protective, and the source of much of their fun. He adored, and was deeply adored by, his parents, Dolores and Bob Sr. From an early age, Bob was drawn to nature, animals, and the simple joy of being outdoors. His loving heart and steady presence made others feel safe, valued, and at home, whether the family was living in Illinois, California, or Missouri.

Bob studied Political Science at Missouri State University and was a natural builder, tinkerer, and problem-solver who never hesitated to help with a project. He found early inspiration in the hills of Jamaica before settling in Snowmass Village, Colorado, in 1980, a place he always considered home.

Bob met the love of his life, Diane Marston Hollenbach, poolside at Top of the Village in Snowmass. They shared 42 years of marriage filled with laughter, adventure, and deep partnership. Together, they raised two sons they were immensely proud of, Tyler of Aspen and Brent of Denver.

Bob made friends easily and formed lasting bonds wherever he went. His life was filled with adventure, including dirt bike rides over Pearl Pass, supporting the Baja 2000, camping along Snowmass Creek, snowmobiling, boating, skydiving, scuba diving, and countless concerts. He gravitated toward anything involving warm salt water and open skies.

As a father, Bob was devoted and enthusiastic. He cherished time with his sons, often building, racing, and playing alongside them, especially when it involved cars, rockets, boats, planes, or a simple game of frisbee. Quality time mattered more than anything to him.

Family travels included ocean adventures, lake days at Ruedi Reservoir, many trips to Lake Powell, and journeys to destinations around the world. Evenings often ended with Bob playing guitar and sharing stories that were always entertaining and unforgettable. He passed along his love of the ocean and diving to Tyler and his passion for flight to Brent.

Bob was also a dedicated fireworks enthusiast who became certified, built his own fireworks, and delighted friends and family by lighting up the night sky.

Above all, Bob valued relationships. He believed in the goodness of people and lived with trust, honor, loyalty, humor, and generosity. A handshake-deal kind of man, he built a successful business alongside Diane and gave his whole self to everything he pursued.

Bob Hollenbach passed away at home in Snowmass Village, Colorado, on December 24, 2025, surrounded by love. A celebration of life will be planned for the summer of 2026. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
