Obituary: Larry Mayer

May 22, 1960 – October 16, 2025

We are deeply saddened to report the passing of Larry “Lairdog” Mayer. Larry was a true Aspen native. He was born in the old Aspen Hospital on May 22, 1960. Larry’s parents were long time Aspen Ski Patrolman, Howie Mayer and Pauline Mayer who both lived in Aspen since the late 1950s.
Larry is survived by his brother Mark Mayer, sister Nannette Fenn and two nephews, Jamie Fenn and David Hennings.
Larry loved being outdoors. His passions were skiing, motorcycle riding, guitar playing, boating and surfing.
A memorial will be held for Larry on Saturday, December 6th at the Aspen Fraternity of Eagles. The time is 4pm to 6pm and the address is 700 East Bleeker Street in Aspen.
The family invites Larry’s friends to attend.
