CARBONDALE, Colorado. John Krueger, 74, passed away Sept. 24, 2025. He was born May 8, 1951, in Indianapolis, Ind. He graduated from Indiana University in 1973 and soon moved to Aspen, where he began a lifelong love of the mountains and the community he called home. John retired in 2021 as Director of Transportation for the City of Aspen, where he proudly helped bring electric buses to the fleet. He enjoyed skiing, biking, camping, and golf.
Survivors include his wife, Debra; sons, JR and Kris; and sisters, Karen, Nancy, and Cynthia.
A Celebration of Life will be held Dec. 13 from 12 to 3 p.m. at Redstone Ranch in Woody Creek.
