Winners named for Aspen Elementary School writing contest

Winners of the 22nd Annual Fraser Creative Writing Contest, which includes Aspen Elementary School third and fourth grade students, were named late last week.
Over 80 students participated in this year’s contest. The theme third graders followed was travel, while fourth graders wrote about extreme settings.
Winners include:
Third grade
- First place: Zoe Holstein
- Second place: Rhone Reveal, Vivienne Gilmore and Summer Kliner
- Third place: Dagny Watson, Simone Kliner and Monroe Mangelsen
Fourth grade
- First place: Carter Shook
- Second place: Colin Jordan, Emma Tompkins and Sienna Umbarger
- Third place: Emma Hansen and Eleanor Gorlach

Just shy of 100 seniors walked across the stage on Saturday, the wind and rain holding off long enough to get through the roughly two-hour ceremony without needing a rain jacket.
