Attendees might want to skip being fashionably late to Whit Boucher’s 2025 solo art show at the Aspen Collective Gallery because at the debut event last summer, all 30 pieces sold out!
The show, titled “Energy is Everything,” is about “the energy that I possess and put out into the world,” Boucher said. “It’s also the visual presentation of that energy that is embodied in the natural world around us, specifically all of the plants and wildflowers and all of the nature here in this area.”
For his second solo show at the Collective, which opens 6 to 10 p.m., July 11, he has undertaken his most ambitious project yet — while still aiming to recreate the same vibe and energy as last year.
“I’m trying to build on that momentum from my previous show last summer into this show,” he said.
He previously built larger symmetrical forms out of flowers to create bigger pieces and is doing the same thing this year, as well as adding some elements of gold leaf.

This year’s show features 23 pieces — 16 smaller works depicting individual flowers and seven large-scale pieces. It’s the result of five months of work, with Boucher putting in 12 to 15 hours a day.
He completed his series with only days to spare and is ready for the July show.
“This is the largest amount of effort I’ve ever put into anything by a massive margin. So I hope that people recognize that and can see that in the work because I’m pretty proud of how these are turning out,” he said, believing he has made a big creative jump from last year.

Then, the evening event will transition from gallery walls to dance floors, as the celebration continues with an after-party open to the public at Jimoto Ramen, located just across the street from the Aspen Art Museum.
Starting at 11 p.m. and going late into the night, Boucher will switch gears into his DJ persona, Moonbird, spinning alongside well-known local DJ Logan Garrison, also known as DJ LO_G. The party is presented by Currently Enjoying, an apparel collaboration between Boucher and Derek Sabiston, and will go late into the night.
The Aspen Collective Gallery is located at 213 S. Mill St. For more information, visit aspencollective.com/whit-boucher.
