The curtain rises as Theatre Aspen Director Jed Bernstein reveals its upcoming summer slate.
The season features theatrical productions, the return of the Summer Cabaret Series, and the Seventh Annual Solo Flights Festival that will run in early fall.
“The summer of 2026 will allow Theatre Aspen to continue its momentum from the past few seasons,” Bernstein said.
Three summer theatrical productions will mark the 43rd season: A.R. Gurney’s comedy “Sylvia” will run June 15-27, the seventh-longest-running Broadway phenomenon “A Chorus Line” is set for July 3-25, and the popular rock-and-roll musical “Grease” will be on stage from July 31 – Aug. 29.
“‘Sylvia’ is a charming and funny celebration of dog ownership (a perfect fit for Aspen), ‘A Chorus Line’ is the most iconic of all Broadway musicals, and ‘Grease’ is one of the best movie musicals ever brought to life on stage,” Bernstein said.
And building on last year’s momentum, the Summer Cabaret Series will return for three Sundays: June 28, July 19, and Aug. 16 at the historic Hotel Jerome.
As the summer turns to autumn, the seventh annual Solo Flights Festival will also be back Sept. 8-13.
