The popular downhill costume contest made its return to Aspen Gay Ski Week on Friday, Jan. 19, 2024, on Aspen Mountain. Teams skied a short way down the bottom of the final pitch and tried to put on a show for the judges and the lively audience that packed the area near the Silver Queen Gondola.
And, as has become custom, the team from Snowmass Tourism again took the win. This was their sixth straight downhill costume contest victory dating back to their first in 2018. This year, Snowmass Tourism went with the theme of “Bring it On” with most of the skiers adorned in cheerleading outfits.
Various activities continue around town Saturday and into Sunday before the 47th Aspen Gay Ski Week wraps up.
