The town of Basalt’s new town manager, Gloria Kaasch-Buerger, will be doing two meet-and-greet sessions in the Basalt area in the coming two weeks.
The meetings are intended to introduce community members to their town manager over a coffee, to get to know one another, and share ideas, a press release states.
“As a new Town Manager, I believe it’s important to be accessible to the community and to build relationships with the residents who elected the Council I serve,” Kaasch-Buerger said. “I began the position in November and spent my first months getting to know Town staff and the Council, and I’m now focused on engaging more directly with the community.”
The first will take place from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday at CC’s Cafe in historic Basalt, 104 Midland Ave. The following week there will be a second meet-and-greet on Jan. 16 from 9. to 10 a.m. at the Starbucks in Willits at 719 E. Valley Road.
“These are intended to give community members a chance to put a face to my name, raise questions or concerns, schedule time for a deeper conversation on specific issues, or simply grab a cup of coffee and talk about Basalt,” Kaasch-Buerger said. “While there are many ways for residents to connect with me, these gatherings are meant to serve as an open and welcoming starting point.”
For those who cannot attend, but still want a one-on-one opportunity to meet Kaasch-Buerger, they can do so through her calendar application. The link is available at http://www.basalt.net/ under Basalt News.
