Heading to Aspen on his “Pause For Laughter” tour, renowned comedian Modi Rosenfeld will perform at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12, at the Wheeler Opera House for his debut show at the venue.

The internationally acclaimed standup has been on a global tour. The tour has ventured abroad to places like Berlin, Frankfurt, and Munich, and now comes back to the United States.

“We’re going to bring that same energy everywhere,” Modi, who goes by his first name, said. “It’s a night of comedy, community, and, as I always say, ‘Moshiach Energy.'”

Modi coined that term to refer to the energy he feels in the room when people from all walks of life are united in laughter.

“Everybody comes and has a good time. It’s good to just stop scrolling for a little while, pause, and have some laughs,” Modi told The Aspen Times. “It’s an amazing event to bring a friend, a few friends, or someone who needs a good laugh. It’s a great way to connect.”

Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, Modi moved to Long Island, New York, when he was 7 years old. New York remains his home base, along with a home in Connecticut and — as he jokes — “the Delta Lounge,” since he’s often on a plane.

Prior to his comedy career, the Boston University-graduate worked for Merrill Lynch.

Known for his sharp wit, the show he will be performing in Aspen has been honed and perfected — he just finished taping it in Atlanta to become his second comedy special named after his tour, “Pause For Laughter.” He released his first comedy special, “Know Your Audience,” in 2024.

Despite this set being ready to go, Modi is one of those comedians whose mind is always working, and he’s always thinking of the next bit he will add to a show.

As a prominent figure in the comedy world, The Hollywood Reporter voted Modi as one of the “Top 10 Comedians in New York City.”

Modi has appeared in numerous television shows, including “Crashing” and “Madame Secretary,” as well as Netflix’s “When Jews Were Funny.” He is also the host of the popular podcast “And Here’s Modi,” offering an inside look at the comedian, the world of comedy, and trending topics.

This will be Modi’s first visit to Aspen in the winter.

“The last time we were there, it was a summer event, so we got to see how beautiful Aspen really, really is,” Modi said.

From Aspen, Modi will continue performing his observational, clean comedy in cities like Detroit, Orlando, and Dallas, as well as some smaller communities. The tour will culminate at Radio City Music Hall on April 30, which will be his biggest solo show thus far.
