Letter (Sept. 3): When Aspen was down to earth

When Aspen was down to earth
Dear Editor:
With regard to the column “Greedy Fat Cats” by Glenn Beaton (Commentary, The Aspen Times, Sunday, Sept. 1): Glenn Beaton’s reference to “Aspen from a near abandoned ex-mining town with all the charisma of Gypsum” is an insult to the Aspenites who were here long before the influx of you “New Cats” into Aspen.
Us “Old Cats” remember an Aspen of charm and hospitality. We were poorer but not “stuck-up.” I’ll take the Aspen of old; you can have the new Aspen.
