Déjà Nu is putting down roots in Aspen with its first downtown salon space within a year of launching.
The company, which upcycles brands that include Dior, Louis Vuitton, Hermès and more by transforming them into vests and jackets that blend the luxury Aspen lifestyle with a newfound sustainability, will host a public reception from 4 to 8 p.m. Sept. 17 at 315 E. Hyman Ave.
Shoppers will get a first look at the Winter 2026/27 collection, including reversible cashmere vests and denim jackets, each a one-of-a-kind piece. Everything in the salon is 30% off Sept. 17 only.
“What we’re bringing is a new way of looking at luxury, and we are excited that all of our pieces have some element of vintage,” Founder Killeen Brettmann said. “We’re taking the next step and setting up our own space. We couldn’t have done it without the help of other local women who have supported us.”
The brand has previously been carried at Nuages and 419 Aspen, and has partnered with the Spa at Viceroy Snowmass.

Brettmann runs the brand with her daughter Eryn, who also models for Déjà Nu. In addition to upcycling luxury vintage-silk-lined cashmere and denim, they offer hand-painted accessories all made by artisans across the Roaring Fork Valley.
“For the past two years, I have been studying fine art in New York City, and am currently building a practice based in the city,” Eryn said. “Having a creative project I can work on with my mom has been really special because I can bring back ideas I’m seeing and experimenting with in New York and fold them into what we’re doing in Aspen.”
As an Aspen native, Eryn attended Aspen elementary, middle and high schools before moving to New York to study fine art.
“Aspen is where I got the art bug in the first place, through the art program there. So getting to build something creative with my mom, in the town I grew up in, has meant a lot,” she said.
The new space will operate by appointment through winter. It joins a growing cluster of local makers in the building, including Aspen Arts Club artists, Vintage Mischief, Grove, Tattoo Aspen and Eddy’s Marketplace.
Pieces are also available at dejanuaspen.com, with local delivery from Aspen to Carbondale.
