The city of Aspen is inviting families, residents, and visitors to celebrate the grand opening of Wagner Park’s new playground from 3 to 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 27.

While the playground opened unofficially to the public earlier this month, this community event marks the “official debut” of the new construction in downtown Aspen that replaces the iconic “tooth” playground structure that was a fixture in the park for years.

“The Wagner Park playground has always been a beloved spot for families,” Michael Tunte, landscape architect and construction manager, said in a press release. “We’re excited to unveil a space that encourages creativity, movement, and connection for kids of all ages.”

The grand opening will offer free treats while families can play on the brand-new equipment, according to the release. The new playground design focuses on safety and accessibility while promoting fun, featuring modern aesthetics, nature-inspired elements, and inclusive amenities for children of all abilities.
