Aspen looking for board and commission applicants
16 volunteer positions open, deadline Jan. 7

The city of Aspen is looking to fill 16 board and commission vacancies.
Applications for the volunteer positions are due Jan. 7. The city will begin conducting interviews with prospective applicants at 4 p.m. Jan. 12 in the City Council Chambers.
According to the city, the open seats include:
- Aspen/Pitkin County Housing Authority (APCHA): One joint regular member
- Board of Adjustment: One regular and one alternate member
- Building Code Board of Appeals: Two regular members
- Commercial Core & Lodging Commission: Three regular members
- Grant’s Steering Committee: One regular member
- Historic Preservation Commission: One regular and two alternate members
- Local Licensing Authority: One alternate member
- Planning & Zoning commission: One regular and one alternate member
- Wheeler Board of Directors: One regular member

Other boards and commissions that do not currently have openings include:
- ARC Advisory Committee
- Aspen Animal Shelter Board
- Kids First Advisory Board
- Open Space & Trails Board
- Sister Cities
Those interested in serving on boards or commissions without vacancies can still submit an application.
“The Clerk’s office will keep it on file until there is an opening,” Aspen’s website states.
