Andersen: Thank you, Aspen, for supporting fire department

On behalf of the entire Aspen Fire Protection District, I want to extend my deepest gratitude for your tremendous support of our two recent ballot initiatives. Your “yes” votes are more than just an approval of funding — they are a resounding expression of trust, partnership, and shared commitment to protecting this incredible community we all call home.

As your new fire chief, I am both humbled and inspired by the faith you’ve placed in us. Aspen has a long and proud tradition of neighbors looking out for one another — a spirit of resilience, compassion, and collective responsibility. Your support ensures that we can continue to meet the challenges of wildfire, emergency response, and community safety with the strength, readiness, and resources our valley deserves.

These initiatives will allow us to invest in vital equipment, enhance firefighter training, improve our fleet, and advance meaningful wildfire mitigation projects that protect the beautiful place we love. Every improvement we make will be guided by our duty to serve you with integrity, accountability, and care.
