Special additional Aspen’s Darkside Ghost Tour for Halloween, Oct. 31
An additional Aspen’s Darkside Ghost Tour will be offered at 8:30 p.m. on Halloween night, giving guests a special opportunity to experience Aspen’s haunted history on the spookiest night of the year. Host Dean Weiler will take participants through the spirits and skeletons of Aspen’s historical past. The 60-minute walking tour covers true stories of Aspen’s darker history from 1879 to the present. This tour is for all ages — solo adventurers and groups are welcome. Trick-or-Treat at Aviator Nation Candy Give-Away, Oct. 31

Aviator Nation is hosting a free trick or treat all ages event from 3-6 p.m. this Halloween, Oct. 31. Enjoy candy, snacks, activities, and games, and even the opportunity for children in costume to take a complimentary Polaroid. There’s also a 20% discount on all kids’ items. The MOLLIE Murder Mystery Party, Halloween, Oct. 31
The MOLLIE Murder Mystery Party will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Aspen Roof Terrace Bar. If you are looking for an evening of “intrigue, deception, and drama,” join “Murder in the Speakeasy: A 1920s Whodunnit.” This active event has guests contribute as a character in the story, with roles assigned via email prior to the event. Participants are encouraged to come in full 1920s costume and be ready to play the part. Tickets are $50 per guest and include a first custom-crafted cocktail. The MOLLIE Aspen is located at 111 S. W Aspen’s Haunted Hotel Party, Halloween, Oct. 31

Opiuo with Auracle at Belly Up Aspen. Halloween, Oct. 31

The fun never ends on Friday night. Opiuo with Auracle will perform at 10 p.m. Oct. 31 at Belly Up Aspen, located at 450 S. Galena St. The show is for ages 21 and older. This New Zealand native grew up with his parents hosting music festivals on their land. This formative experience influenced his “infectious electronic blend of funk, soul, psychedelia, and booty-shaking bass,” according to the event announcement. Now based in Australia, he tours around the globe attending many music festivals. Cemetery Walk with the Dead, Saturdays through Nov. 1
“It is such an authentic Halloween experience, where you’re in this abandoned cemetery. The leaves have fallen, and it gives you the sense of moving into death,” Tour Founder Dean Weiler said. Weiler’s Aspen Tours will uncover tales from the grave of Aspen’s oldest burial ground in this special fall season tour, “Walk with the Dead,” going on now through Nov. 1. This special guided spooky Saturday tour takes visitors through Ute Cemetery. Learn about the first skier buried in Aspen, as well as the last. An Evening with Young & Dead, Nov. 1

It’s time to kick it up a notch with a Grateful Dead tribute band on Saturday night. The Young & Dead will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at Belly Up Aspen, located at 450 S. Galena St. This Boulder-based band consists of musicians in their 20s who bring youthful energy to music of the Grateful Dead. Those 18 and under must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Aspen Advance Look: ’11 to Midnight,’ Nov. 1

The Wheeler Opera House’s Aspen Advance Look series will present a special preview of the off-Broadway-bound “11 to Midnight” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 1 at the Wheeler Opera House, located at 320 E. Hyman Ave. This collaboration between Hideaway Circus and viral choreographers Cost n’ Mayor (Austin and Marideth Telenko) will give local audiences the opportunity to witness the evolution of this work-in-progress and genre-defying production shortly before its New York City premiere. Cost n’ Mayor are a popular creative duo known for their perfectly synchronized choreography and viral performances. Kids Scholarship Day, Nov. 1
Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club, Roaring Fork Valley’s oldest and largest youth nonprofit, supports Kids Scholarship Day, 9 a.m. to early afternoon on Saturday, Nov. 1, at both Gorsuch in Aspen (ski) and Four Mountain Sports at Buttermilk (snowboard). Día de los Muertos Celebration at the Aspen Art Museum, Nov. 2
Día de los Muertos will be held 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, at the Aspen Art Museum. The event will begin with a bilingual conversation with visiting artist and educator María de Los Ángeles and local artist Gabriela Mejía, followed by a vibrant afternoon filled with free all-ages art activities, a community merienda, live performances by Cumbre Flow, and Mariachi by Los Reyes de Jalisco, face painting, family portrait sessions, and more. Guests are welcome to honor traditions, create, and connect with the community. The event is free with an RSVP and adults are recommended to bring ID.
Aspen Cultural Vibrancy Fellowship Applications open until Nov. 21

Applications are open for Aspen’s Cultural Vibrancy Fellowship until Nov. 21. The fellowship, hosted by the Red Brick Center for the Arts and the Wheeler Opera House, offers financial support, live performance experiences, and opportunities for networking and collaboration.
“We are thrilled that the Cultural Vibrancy Fellowship, now into its third year, continues to evolve as we learn how the program can best serve our local artists,” Executive Director of the Wheeler Opera House Mike Harrington said.
Twelve artists (ages 19 and up) will each receive up to $5,000, while 10 youth will each be eligible for up to $750. Applicants must live within the Aspen Urban Growth Boundary or attend school within the Aspen School District Boundary. Previous adult participants from the 2023 Fellowship are welcome to reapply with a new project but not the previous year’s. Youth participants from 2024 are welcome to reapply with a fresh project.
“The Cultural Vibrancy Fellowship is open to individual artists working across a wide range of disciplines, including performing arts, visual arts, film, literary arts, mixed media, and new media arts,” according to a statement.
