World Cup Finals women’s downhill training start list announced

Vonn will wear bib No. 9; overall leader Stuhec in No. 7

FIS officials Sunday night released the starting list for Monday’s downhill training for the World Cup Finals at Aspen Mountain.

Lindsey Vonn of Vail will be in bib No. 9 on Monday, and she is one of six Americans in the 21-woman field.

Alice Merryweather of Hingham, Mass., will race this week after winning the World Junior Championships last week in Sweden. The 20-year-old will wear bib 21.

Downhill overall leader Ilka Stuhec of Slovenia will be in bib 7. Italy’s Sofia Goggia, who is second in the standings 97 points behind Stuhec, will be in bib 13.

Fans can watch the training runs from the side of the America’s Downhill course, but the grandstand in the finish area will not be open Monday.
