ASPEN The Colorado High School Activities Association recently named 43 Aspen High athletes to its Academic All-State teams for the winter sports season. Twenty-seven Skiers earned first team honors and the remaining 16 received honorable mention.First team honors are awared to students with a 3.60 or higher grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Students with grade point averages between 3.30 and 3.59 earned honorable mention recognition.Each student receives a certificate in acknowledgement of his/her achievement.The Skiers first teamers are: Brian Westerlind (basketball), Grace Seigle (basketball), Taylor Schlepp (basketball), Reghan Mahaffey (basketball), Noah Hoffman (nordic), Barton Tofany (nordic), Laura Hatanaka (nordic), Natalie Obermeyer (nordic), Annalise Grueter (nordic), Katie Bird (nordic), Haley Kaufman (dance), Jennie McLellan (dance), Shannon Dick (dance), Cleo Abramian (dance), Jessica Hite (dance), Elle Stark (swimming), Annie Buettow (swimming), Steffi Klawiter (swimming), Simon Dolginow (hockey), Ryder Fyrwald (hockey), Matthew Cooper (hockey), Austin Hills (hockey), Gaelen Means (hockey), Charlie Olson (hockey), Ricky Frias (hockey), Taylor Feldman (hockey) and Tyler Moore (hockey).The Skiers honorable mentions are: Nathan Marrs (nordic), Cornelia Carpenter (nordic), Stephen Buzbee (alpine), Whit Fuller (alpine), Taylor Buzbee (alpine), Christina Van Moorsel (alpine), Jennifer Hearn (alpine), Sophie Ben Hamoo (dance), Whitney Mufson (dance), Stephanie Purnell (dance), Nicky Anastas (hockey), Joey Cathcart (hockey), Andy Conarroe (hockey), Remy Pearlstone (hockey), Michael Taylor (basketball) and Blake Wilcox-Snyder (basketball).
