Snowmass bike race looks for participation

SNOWMASS ” Organizers of next weekend’s 12 Hours of Snow­mass are seeking sponsors, riders and volunteers.

The 12-hour mountain bike race is an interme­diate race for solo and endurance teams, and ben­efits Aspen Youth Center and Extreme Sports Camp.

It also is the final stop in the 2008 Rocky Moun­tain Ultra Regional Endurance Series.

The race will take place on Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The relay mountain bike race incorporates some of the best trails on Snowmass Ski Area on a 10K course.

Riders can choose to ride solo, teams of two, three or an open team of up to eight riders. Cate­gories also include a ski patrol team, bike shop team and a chance to race for the title of “Clydes­dale 12 Hour Solo World Champion.”
