Rugby matchup Saturday at Rio Grande Park

Staff report

The annual Fourth of July rugby rivalry game in Aspen, featuring the Gentlemen of Aspen and the Denver Barbarians, will be played Saturday, the Fourth of July, at Rio Grande Park.

Gents officials had hoped to play the rivalry game at Wagner Park. However, the condition of the field at Wagner Park is not yet ready for play after the Food & Wine Classic.

Future summer rugby games will be played at Wagner Park.

Kickoff Saturday is set for 12:30 p.m. at Rio Grande Park when the Gents square off against the perennial powerhouse Barbos. The game is free and open to the public.
