Registration open for 2015 Owl Creek Chase

Registration is open now for a pair of Aspen winter classics.

The annual Owl Creek Chase cross country race, the traditional trek from Snowmass Village to Aspen, will return on Sunday, Feb. 15.

Start time is 11 a.m.

Part of the Aspen Nordic Festival, the Owl Creek Chase is the keystone event, considered one of Colorado’s premier Nordic races.

The annual ski race, which attracts elite athletes from around the country, includes tough climbs, thrilling descents and scenic vistas.

The second Aspen winter classic, also staged by Sandra Doebler and the city of Aspen, is America’s Uphill on Aspen Mountain, set for Saturday, March 14. Start will be at 7 a.m.

The uphill on Ajax is a longtime favorite, attacting all types up uphillers — runners, snowshoers, Nordic skiers, telemark skiers and Randonee skiers for a 2.5-mile climb up Aspen Mountain.

America’s Uphill begins at the base of Little Nell and climbs 3,267 feet up the Aspen Mountain ski area finishing at the Sundeck at an elevation of 11,212 feet.
