Area high school teams are getting back in the spring swing with many squads returning to action after spring break.

The Aspen High School girls soccer team was all set to kick off the rest of the season with Vail Christian scheduled to visit for a nonconference match Tuesday afternoon.

The Skiers next will play at Roaring Fork on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Aspen High School boys lacrosse team — the 2015 Class 4A state champions — will hit the home field Wednesday for a game against valley rival Glenwood Springs.

The game is set for 4 p.m. at Aspen School District Stadium.

Aspen High baseball also returns to action this week with a doubleheader against state-ranked Gunnison on Saturday. Games will start at 11 a.m. at Aspen’s home field — Crawford Field in El Jebel.

The Skiers are 1-3 thus far.

Gunnison is 5-0.

The Basalt High School baseball team, 2-3, will be back in action Thursday at Grand Valley. The Longhorns dropped a 6-4 decision at Battle Mountain on Monday.

The Basalt baseball team will host Rifle on Saturday morning.

The Basalt girls soccer team will host Rifle on Thursday afternoon at the BHS soccer field. The Longhorns are 1-1-0 entering a Tuesday night match against rival Roaring Fork.
