Prep briefs: Aspen soccer beats Grand Valley

The Aspen High School boys soccer team won its second game of the season Tuesday, beating visiting Grand Valley, 6-2.

The only other win of the season came Sept. 22 in a 6-2 win over Middle Park. The most recent win improves Aspen’s record to 2-7-1 overall on the season. The Skiers have five games remaining in the regular season, next being a Saturday trip to Delta.

The Basalt High School boys soccer team played at Delta on Tuesday, losing an important league match, 2-1. The loss dropped the Longhorns to 6-3 overall on the season. Basalt next plays Thursday at home against Crested Butte.

Also Tuesday, the Aspen High School softball team fell 31-6 to visiting Meeker. Aspen (0-12) will wrap up its regular season Thursday at Delta.
