Six-kilometer and 12-kilometer freestyle races ” open to all ages and abilities ” will start at 10 a.m, followed by the 1-kilometer “Kiddieboom” at noon for children 10 and younger. Spectators are encouraged to come out to the race course.

The Kiddieboom event is free, and the freestyle race is $10. Freestyle means skate or classic technique is allowed.

Participants can register in advance at the Snowmass or Aspen cross-country centers. Day-of registration is from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Snowmass Cross Country Center. After the race, snacks and hot beverages will be served, and a raffle will be held.

The race is the second in the Aspen Town Nordic Series, an eight-event race and touring series held throughout the Roaring Fork Valley that emphasizes participation and fun for all ages and ability levels, and racers and non-racers.

Races have a festive atmosphere with food, beverages, and raffle prizes. Points are awarded for age groups and overall placing and are tallied throughout the season. Overall and age-group winners will be awarded prizes at the end-of-the-season party.
