New name for youth football

Staff report

There’s a name change for local youth football.

Mountain West Youth Football is the program formerly known as Three Rivers Youth Football. Program’s the same; the name is different.

The importance of the name change is reflected in advance online registration.

Online registration is available at http://www.mountainwestyouthfootball.com.

The program is for incoming third- and fourth-graders in one division and incoming fifth- and sixth-graders in another division.

Practice for youth football will begin Aug. 25.

The first game is set for Sept. 7.

Games will continue every Sunday through Oct. 26.

For more information, contact youth football director Ron “Stump” Morehead, the retail manager for Four Mountain Sports in Aspen. You can reach him at rmorehead@aspensnowmass.com or 970-618-0354.
