Local group holding clothing drive Thursday for mountain communities
The Aspen Trailheads, a local group of avid runners, has joined with Corbeaux Clothing for a special cause.
Thursday at 6:30 p.m., during the Trailheads’ usual “Thirsty Thursday” meeting at the Mill Street Fountain, anyone can donate a piece of clothing to Corbeaux for its Join The Flight program.
The program takes the clothing and donates it to underdeveloped mountain communities around the world, with donations often going directly to porters, guides and children.
Anyone who donates clothing Thursday will receive a $25 coupon for new Corbeaux Clothing gear, as well as a free beer. The donations are being accepted at The Sports Center, 308 S. Mill Street in Aspen.
The Trailheads plan on having their weekly 45-minute to hour-long run, with all skill levels — including walkers and crawlers — invited.
‘How dare they’: IOC opts not to include women’s Nordic combined in ’26 Games
Women’s Nordic combined will not be in the Olympics in 2026, preventing the Winter Games from reaching gender equality. The International Olympic Committee elected to not add the sport to the schedule on Friday.
