Lady Longhorns take down Olathe

Senior guard Deanna Spracher scored 14 points to lead the Basalt High girls basketball team to a 45-25 win over Olathe Friday night at the BHS Bighouse.Basalt, 7-10 overall and 6-4 in Class 3A Western Slope League play, got nine points from freshman guard Dayne Toney and five from sophomore forward Allison Brumet.The sisters Mulcahy, senior Kelsea and sophomore Katy, combined for seven points.With two games to play in the regular season, Basalt sits tied for third place in the 3A WSL standings.Roaring Fork (16-2, 10-1) clinched the league title with a win at Aspen Friday night and is the No. 1 team in the league. Cedaredge (13-4, 7-3) is No. 2, followed by Basalt and Hotchkiss (12-5, 6-4), Aspen (9-8, 4-6), Gunnison (5-11, 3-7) and Olathe (3-15, 0-11).On Friday, the Lady Longhorns host Cedaredge at 5:30 p.m. in their regular-season home finale. On Saturday, the BHS girls travel to face Hotchkiss.
