Kildow looking for revenge

SAN SICARIO, Italy ” Lindsey Kildow returns to the course where she crashed during last year’s Turin Olympics ” and she wants payback.
“I’m excited to put to rest everything with my crash and get some good results and get some revenge on the hill,” Kildow said. “San Sicario and I have some business that we need to finish up.”
The American skier was hospitalized for a night after a horrific crash during downhill training at the Turin Games. She came back and competed in all four of her events ” downhill, combined, super-G and slalom ” but pain limited her performance and her best result was seventh in super-G.
Three World Cup races ” two super-G’s and a downhill ” are scheduled for the Fraiteve Olimpique course this weekend.
“I’ve always thought that was a good course for me, with a lot of gliding and jumps, which I like a lot,” Kildow said recently.
Kildow also crashed in her last two downhills. She didn’t have any serious injuries, but decided to skip Sunday’s giant slalom in Cortina to rest her bruised body.
U.S. women’s coach Patrick Riml said Wednesday that Kildow is not planning to alter her approach.
“She’s not going to change. She’s gotten over that hump already,” Riml said.
Kildow is third in the downhill standings behind Renate Goetschl and Julia Mancuso. Goetschl leads with 425 points, while Mancuso has 346 and Kildow has 340.
About a foot of snow fell on the Fraiteve course Tuesday, forcing the cancellation of Wednesday’s downhill training session.
Another training session is scheduled for Thursday, followed by a super-G on Friday, the downhill Saturday and another super-G on Sunday.
