Hoops: Basalt boys, girls lose to Coal Ridge at home
Aspen, CO Colorado
Surviving a second-half scare from hard-charging Basalt, Coal Ridge held on for a 49-41 boys basketball win on Friday.
The Titans, playing on the road, took a 32-15 lead into halftime.
But the Longhorns came roaring back in the second half, whittling the deficit to six points in the fourth quarter.
“We got a little lazy on defense, giving up some easy ones,” Coal Ridge coach Paul Harvey said. “Basalt, they don’t ever give up. They played extremely hard. They play hard defense.”
