The Aspen High School hockey team extended its home winning streak with a dominating 7-0 victory over visiting Mullen on Friday night at the Lewis Ice Arena.

“In the second and third periods, we started playing physical hockey, and we hit the nets,” Aspen head coach Dru Lucchesi said. “Everything started clicking.”

Aspen potted a flurry of goals, including goals from Harry Ferguson, Charlie Van Allen, Garrett McNichol, Ryan Fitzgerald, Tyler Tick and Henry Godfrey.

“Garrett McNichol played outstanding tonight. His line was outstanding,” Lucchesi said.

Anders Brucker had the shutout in goal for Aspen.

“Anders played very well for us,” Lucchesi said as the Skiers improved to 6-4-0 in the statewide Foothills League, 6-6-0 overall.

Mullen fell to 1-9-0 in conference, 3-10-0 overall.

The Aspen High School hockey team will host Standley Lake in a 4 p.m. game today at the Lewis Ice Arena.
