The Aspen Golf Club will host official LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Days this summer.

The first day is set for Wednesday, July 9.

Girls Golf Days are an initiative of the LPGA Foundation.

The events are designed to make golf accessible to girls and to further their interest in the game.

The session are free and open to girls ages 7-17.

This year in Aspen, local LPGA pro Dede Sueimano and Brian Della Betta of the PGA will host a “These Girls Rock” girls junior golf clinic.

Festivities on Wednesday will begin at 11:30 a.m. with lunch.

There will be a special guest appearance by three-time U.S. Women’s Open champion Susie Berning.

All attendees will receive complimentary gifts.

Cusimano is the 2013 LPGA Western Section teacher of the year, based at the Aspen Golf Club.
