Cross country: Basalt’s Robinson 14th at Glenwood Invite

The Basalt High School cross country team competed Saturday at the Glenwood Springs Demon Cross Country Invitational, with the girls team taking fifth place. BHS junior Carly Robinson led the way, finishing 14th overall in 22 minutes, 42 seconds. Eagle Valley freshman Joslin Blair won the race in 19:48.

Behind Robinson was Basalt sophomore Megan Maley, who finished 22nd in 23:34. Aspen High School senior Adair Pattillo took 25th in 23:44, the final point scorer in the race. The Aspen girls finished seventh as a team. Heritage High School won the girls portion of the race.

Glenwood Springs High School won the boys side of the invite. Aspen was sixth, while Basalt did not field a full team. Basalt sophomore William Luckett was the top local finisher, taking 30th in 20:21. Aspen sophomore Everett Olson was 31st in 20:30. Glenwood’s Henry Barth won the boys race in 17:35.
