City crowns tennis champs

The Aspen city champions have been crowned.

The Aspen City BTRP Tennis Championships were held at the Aspen Golf and Tennis Club last weekend.

There were 35 players in seven different categories.

Players came to Aspen from as far as Texas to play in the annual Aspen city championships.

Here are the 2014 results:

Men’s 3.5 Singles: Tomas Franceschi (Aspen) def. Lance Clarke (Aspen) 6-2, 4-6, 6-4

Men’s 4.0 Singles: Stewart Gorenberg(Aspen) def. Mike Allen (Vail) 6-4, 6-0

Men’s 4.5 Singles: Josh Wolman (Aspen) def. Mike Allen ( Vail) 6-2, 6-2

Women’s 3.5 Singles: Amy Roggie (Glenwood Springs) def. Margaret Dole (Aspen) 6-1, 6-7, 6-1

Men’s 3.5 Doubles: Tomas Franceschi (Aspen)/Kevin Harris (Snowmass Village) def. Clark & David Reid (Houston, TX) 6-0, 6-3

Women’s 4.0 Doubles: Jan Hubbell (West Orange, NJ) / Maureen Marrs (Carbondale) def. Becky Wiscksall / Margaret Dole (Aspen) 6-0, 6-1

Mixed 4.0 Doubles: Jan & Robert Hubbell (West Orange, NJ) def. Sasha Enewold (Carbondale) / Greg Hooker (New Castle) 6-2, 6-3.
