Basalt hosts quarterfinal Tuesday
The No. 2 seed Basalt High School boys soccer team will host No. 7 Peak to Peak in the quarterfinals of the Class 3A state soccer tournament on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the BHS field.Basalt, 14-1-1 overall on the season, beat No. 15 James Irwin 3-0 last Tuesday to advance from the round of 16. Later in the week, Peak to Peak (12-4-1), of Lafayette, advanced with a 1-0 win over No. 10 Kent Denver.The winner of Tuesday’s quarterfinal match in Basalt will advance to the semifinals, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 6, in Arvada, against the winner of the No. 3 Salida (14-2-0) vs. No. 6 Colorado Springs Christian School (12-3-1) quarterfinal. The Salida-CSCS match is slated for Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Salida.
