Basalt baseball sweeps doubleheader vs. Roaring Fork

The Basalt High School baseball team swept a doubleheader from Roaring Fork last weekend.

The Longhorns won the opener 8-7 and took the nightcap 19-10.

In the opener, Michael Glen had two hits and drove in two runs for the Longhorns.



Logan Conley also had two hits and drove in a run.

Clayton Montgomery chipped in with two hits against the Rams.




Miles Levy pitched a seven-inning complete game and allowed only two hits.

In the second game, Raul Torres led the Longhorns with three hits. He scored two runs and drove in two more.

Glen continued his torrid hitting with two more hits and two more RBIs. He also scored three times.

Conley added a three-run triple among his three hits on the day. He drove in three runs.

Tucker Schoon and Ben Haag each had two hits. Haag scored twice and drove in a pair.

Schoon also scored twice.

Torres led the defense at shortstop, completing an unassisted double play during the game.

Roaring Fork’s Drew Broadhurst, Haden Benot and Jake Kelly led the Rams in the doubleheader at Basalt High School.

The Basalt baseball team (3-4) will return to action April 4 with a doubleheader at Grand Valley.
