Basalt baseball beats Steamboat in finale
The Basalt High School baseball team wrapped up its regular season Monday with a 15-3 win at Steamboat Springs High School. The game was a make-up from a rained out game earlier in the season.
The game was close until the fourth inning, when the Longhorns scored 11 runs to pull away.
The Longhorns finish the regular season 9-9 overall, while Steamboat finishes 3-15.
The state playoff brackets should come out Wednesday, although neither Basalt nor Aspen are expected to be in the field.
