Michael Barlow, Maggie Callahan take June 15 Food & Wine 5K titles
Aspen’s Michael Barlow won Friday morning’s Food & Wine Celebrity Chef 5K Charity Run at Rio Grande Park in Aspen. Barlow finished the race in 18 minutes, 44 seconds.
Maggie Callahan of Portland, Oregon, was the top female finisher. She was second overall with a time of 18:59. Aspen’s Josh Meyer was third overall in 19:25 and Boulder’s Craig Lewis fourth in 20:12. Aspen’s Hilary Way was second among women with a time of 21:13, which was seventh overall.

Led by Rigney, Aspen High boys golf team makes big strides at home tournament
As a team, Aspen finished third overall in its lone home tournament of the fall. The Skiers shot a collective 239, finishing 12 back of fellow 3A powerhouse Colorado Academy (227). Steamboat Springs, out of 4A, shot 225 to take the win.
