Aspen U19 girls sweep Telluride

Call it a sweep for the Aspen U19 girls hockey team.
The Aspen Leafs U19 team defeated Telluride in a pair of games last weekend at the Lewis Ice Arena at the Aspen Recreaton Center (ARC).
Aspen won 10-0 and 11-1.
The Aspen Leafs will play four more league games determine the final standings in the girls hockey conference.
The team will participate in the Mountain States Girls Hockey Championship Tournament on Feb. 21-23 in Denver.
Last weekend’s second victory was dedicated to the seniors and their families.
The seniors are Maddie Grant, Jennifer Coombe, Blake Harvey, Abby Costello and Shannon Waititi.
Led by Rigney, Aspen High boys golf team makes big strides at home tournament
As a team, Aspen finished third overall in its lone home tournament of the fall. The Skiers shot a collective 239, finishing 12 back of fellow 3A powerhouse Colorado Academy (227). Steamboat Springs, out of 4A, shot 225 to take the win.
