Aspen High girls soccer overpowers visiting Rifle

The Aspen High School girls soccer team, after a slow start, finished fast with a 7-0 shutout victory over visiting Rifle on Tuesday afternoon at Aspen School District Stadium.
“The girls played well. We dominated the midfield,” said Aspen head coach John Gillies. “We are working well with each other.”
Aspen led 3-0 at halftime.
Freshman Clara Maxwell scored two goals for Aspen.
Lindzhi Douglass also score twice in the victory as did teammate Logan McNamee.
Arley Gorden also scored in the Skiers 7-0 victory
Aspen, with a 4-0 win at Roaring Fork earlier, improved to 5-2-0 overall.
The Skiers will travel to Rangely for a nonleague game Thursday.
Aspen will host Colorado Rocky Mountain School at 11 a.m. Saturday at Aspen School District Stadium.
Rifle, with the loss, moved to 1-5-1 on the season.
