Aspen High boys lax wins at Durango
The Aspen Times
The Aspen High School boys lacrosse team bounced back on the road at Durango on Saturday.
The Skiers rallied for a hard-fought 9-5 victory over the Demons under sunny skies with temperatures in the high 60s. “We played so much better than we did (at Battle Mountain),” Aspen head coach Tim Spaulding said. “We went back to basics.”
He said the Skiers worked on movement and passing the ball.
They generated more offensive opportunities.
“We missed some shots. But all the coaches are happy .. it was a good win today,” Spaulding said as the Skiers moved to 2-1 on the season.
Balanced scoring marked the Skiers’ road win on Saturday morning, he said.
Spauling said the long trip to the Four Corners area provided a good team-building situation for the Skiers.
“They really responded,” Spaulding said.
The Aspen boys will host Summit at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Aspen School District Stadium.
