The Aspen High School boys golf team won the annual Vail Mountain School Invitational earlier this week in Vail.
The Skiers totaled 242 to beat host Vail Mountain School by four strokes.
Battle Mountain finished third at 248. Basalt was fourth with a 260.
Summit finished fifth, followed by Vail Christian, Eagle Valley and Grand Valley.
Tanner Cristofulli of Battle Mountain won medalist honors with a 75.
He edged Aspen’s Will Hazen by one stroke.
Roger Gauthier of Basalt finished third, another stroke back. Oliver Pesso of Vail Mountain School was fourth with a 79.
In addition to Hazen’s 76, the Skiers also carded an 83 from Trey Robinson and an 83 from Burke Daily.
Several of the Skiers are scheduled to play today in the annual Steamboat Springs Invitational at Haymaker Golf Club in Steamboat Springs.
On Sept. 11, the Aspen boys golf team will play in the Summit Invitational at Keystone Ranch Golf Club.
A local kid got on the X Games Aspen podium on Sunday night, but it wasn’t the one most people expected. Even Jon Sallinen didn’t think he’d be taking home a medal.
